Frequently asked

Do I need an account to use OzReel?

No. Identification, measuring and rule checks all work as a guest. You only need an account if you want your logbook to sync across devices and back up to the cloud.

How accurate is the measurement?

The AR measure typically lands within about a centimetre when you tap each end cleanly on a flat surface. For borderline fish, always confirm with a physical brag mat — the official length is what counts.

Which states and territories are covered?

All eight: QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, SA, TAS, NT and ACT. OzReel uses your approximate location to apply the right rule set, and you can switch regions manually.

Is the rule information official?

OzReel is a guide compiled from public sources to help you decide quickly. It is not the legal authority. Always confirm current rules with your state or territory fisheries authority before keeping a fish — see our Terms.

What happens to my photos?

As a guest, photos stay on your device. If you save a catch to a synced account, the photo is stored privately in your logbook. We never sell your photos or use them for advertising — details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does it work offline?

Measuring and your saved logbook work offline. Identification and the latest rule data need a connection, so OzReel caches recent rules to help when signal is patchy on the water.

How much does OzReel cost?

The core experience — identify, measure and check the rules — is free to start. Some advanced features may be offered as an optional subscription down the track; we'll always be clear about what's free.

Your data

Delete your account

You're always in control. Removing your account erases your synced logbook and personal data.

  1. Open OzReel and go to Profile → Settings.
  2. Tap Account, then Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Your logbook and personal data are removed from our servers within 30 days.
  4. Prefer email? Write to support@ozreel.com from your account address and we'll handle it for you.
Catches you saved only as a guest live on your device — uninstalling the app removes them. Deletion can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
